5x7" Archival giclee print, signed in graphite at the bottom of the image
This was painted during Painting for a Purpose to raise money for a grassroots group to protect their public forest home to endangered scrub jays!! I’ve wanted to paint one for a while now and it just seemed like the right moment to. The habitats where I live on the east coast were probably once scrub jay habitat, and the loss of those habitats likely contributed to the endangerment of this endemic Florida bird. All of it’s remaining habitat is vital for its continued existence, which makes split oak extra special.
