What is a Zine?: A "zine" is a tiny magazine! I create these to help spread the word about things that I think are interesting or important. I often include a random one with each order as a thank you gift. They open like a tiny 4 page book!

In This Issue: This one is about how the Atala butterfly was recently rediscovered and brought back from the brink of extinction. Atala's are a Pine Rockland species that were thought to be extinct after their food source, the ancient Coontie cycad plant, was over-harvested and paved over by the growing city of Miami. Roger Hammer stumbled upon a small colony of them in 1979 and got to work with others to reintroduce them to areas where coontie had been restored.

This zine was originally made in 2018 as an edition of the monthly Pine Rockland Zine, and it's still one of my favorites.
